Fixing the Shadow

My first cinemagraph.  I used video I captured from youtube using KeepVid so the quality isn’t there as much as I would like.  I used this awesome tutorial from the folks at photojojo.  A few tips to remember:  Open photoshop in 32-bit instead of 64-bit (otherwise you can’t import the frames as layers) by right-clicking on the photoshop program and selecting info then clicking the box.  Also, photoshop will only allow you to import mov files not mp4.
Tumblr kept giving me an error when I tried to post it, so click on the photo to see it animated.

Dear Photograph . . .

Dear Photograph is a photo blog and time travel without all that messy paradox stuff.

Check out this video from a camera placed on a solid rocket booster.  You might want to turn down your volume at the beginning.  At 1:55, the booster separates and you can see earth from space.  Then about 6 minutes in the camera tilts up and you can see the parachutes deploy, which look like jelly fish.  The launch clock is in the upper-left corner.

Fix This Photo

Possibly the best photography tips website I have came across on the ‘nets.

Both pictures are from the Camera Obscura that my class made during the Art 210 Final. The exposure was about 2 minutes @ 22f with 1600 ISO.  The second is the first upside down so you can get a better idea of the outside of the room on campus.  Enjoy!

Abstract Painter Robert Goodman Opening @ Emory and Henry College in Emory, Va on November 2, 2010.

Check out this great article about the death of the walkman in japan and how it related to facebook.  It rocks!

PLAYING THE PIANO…
…YOUR CHILD’S GATEWAY TO ADULT HAPPINESS!
Oh, God!!! Is that all there is to it? Can you imagine what our world would be like right now if every parent got this postcard in the mail?
Verso: “The child who learns to play the piano today is building for himself a treasure house of happiness…a reservoir of relaxation…upon which he will draw in the “grown-up” years ahead. Don’t wait! The ideal time to start is in the formative years, between six and ten.
See us soon. Let us help you to help your child’s present…and future.”
OK, pianists…how many of you live in a treasure house of happiness??? How many of you relax in a reservoir??
There’s no company associated with this. There is space below the printed message for a music store to imprint its information. (Published by the American Association of Piano Sellers???)

My new favorite band,  The Civil Wars.  They take a bit to start in this video but you’ll be happy you stuck around to listen.  You can download a CD of live songs HERE recorded live at Eddie’s Attic in Decatur, GA.

A video of Jim Henson discussing how to make muppets.  Enjoy!
