Jim Marshall Dies
I just found out today that Jim Marshall, the famous rock and roll photographer, died last wednesday, the 24th. I remember finding his first monograph in a discount bin at a music store in pigeon forge, TN almost 10 years ago. I couldn’t put the book down for months. I bent the spine to pieces analyzing each photograph down to the grain. His images of iconic rock stars, then only just beginning their careers, only added to the aura of music legends such as Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, and Miles Davis. His portraits, especially ones like the one posted, made me want to pursue photography before I even knew what it was all about. After all that time I still find inspiration in them.
